ok so i have a 95 3.4l, and sometimes the car wont start. the motor has a very strong crank, but wont turn over... then sometimes it does turn over i drive around with no probs then out of nowhere it stalls and wont turn on again. No codes, thought it was my fuel filter or pump, changed both and nothing thought it was my crank position sensor changed and still no fix any ideas??? i have full msd wired installed by pro so spark dosent seem like an issue

Hows the battery? No dead cells or anything. Reason I ask is because my Optima took a crap on me , would start fine but when I floored it it shut off all power to everything, installed aa yellow Optima battery and fixed the issue. The red top I had I noticed when it lost power it was extremely warm on 1 side to the touch, this was just after starting it and going a half mile and it died.

Checked voltage at column? Tumbler bad? Main wires going to starter look good?

              Re: Huge Headache

I'm not sure if that year has ignition relays, but on my '99 3.8L I was having a similar problem, turned out to just be a bad ignition relay. I swapped it with my radiator fan relay to check it since they are the exact same, and the car fired up every time.

I had the same problem with my old 1995 camaro. it was a problem with the ignition column. The auto electrician put a bypass switch in. This turned all the dash lights on then the car started no problem.

My horn switch got bypassed last year as it shorted out and got stuck in the on position at 2am at my mechanics. I now have a button for a horn on the dash - it looks like a doorbell. (Not my choice - just wanted to get the car on the road)
