  • Fuel Rail....

So i have a 95-96 upper intake and throttle body for my 01 3.8 (which had a different upper intake and throttle body)(Straight and DBW). But the question here is will the fuel rail from the 01 motor work on my 96 upper intake. im pretty sure it will as long as i dont use the injectors from the 01 motor which is not a problem cause im ordering aftermarket ones anyway. If anyone knows for sure or has used it on a 95-96 let me know thank you.

You should br able to look at them and tell ifits not going to work, mostly it will since the problem with them before was the height of the injectotrs.

yeah im pretty sure the only issue is with the injectors not the rail its self

I have 1 right in front of me and I remember the problem was with injectors themselves, so you should be good. Did you find a place yet that will sell you the right injectors you need?

im going to compare in the morning (take measurements and stuff). and those injectors would work but i think im just going to go with the 80lbers from zzperformance, unless someone else can find 120lbers that will for for sure. Which obviously i havent looked, but the reason for that is idk what too look for,

I think it will take awhile to get those 80lb injectors tuned in , so I would wait and see how they do. Its going to take some time to get then tunned right.

im going to send my pcm off to either pcmforless or intense, and have them tune the pcm to my motor (Cam, pistons, injectors, transmission stuff, fuel pump) and not going to run a turbo when i first start it. then it will be able to drive and i will drive it over to the local dyno shop and hook up the turbo and have them tune it perfectly.

Unless you think you can help me out with hp tuners to where i can get the engine running right with the turbo. cause i have know idea how to do it.

No to pcm4less or intense for tunning, they do basic mods, the tunning your looking into is way more time consumiing. To tune your car right , do your first start up and make sure everything works good. Once the turbo is on you willl have to do the tunning or have soone who knows help you. So either way your going to be doing tuning. You can't just take the pcm out and send it to be flash and it works, not going to happen. Safe bet would when its all done go to a good dyno so they know what their doing, do most your wot runs down to just crusing, this way it won't blow up anything. So get to the reading how to tune writeups.

so with all the engine mods, after the swap, the 97 pcm the car will start up even without changing anything? Or do i need to get hp tuners and mess with a few things first like injectors, egr delete, ac delete, cam specs, trans specs, stuff like that.

Can i do my first start up with the turbo on?

and what do you mean by when its all done, do you mean the build its self, and take it over their on a trailer?

just all the basic stuff for start up, you should be fine then having it on a trailor. After the dyno sesssion ,they should have it streetable that day. I would think.LOL

You can have it feeding into the engine just rev, it and check for leaks, just don't go fullthrottle once its on, use the trailor to take it down to get tunned , shouldn't take more than a hour to have a sreetable tune on it for driving around. You put alot of money in to it so better safe than sorry.

alright and i read up on the yellow turbo camaro's page were he talks about how he tuned his car. and i get all of it perfect.and that had to do with injectors, maf, fuel, spark, KR. so i thinki can get it to where it will run ok, just not go WOT.

so when tuning it with hp tuners, how the yellow turbo camaro explained how to do it, is he just leaving it in park and reving it? then collecting data and plugging it in and changing values?
