  • Car had a hick up

    i was driving down the hwy today and all of a sudden for a about a second the car acted like it it lost ignition but as it did that, the car jumped and it just kept goin. Does anyone know where to go with this....

    check your coils, plugs, and wires id say

      try scaring it! or make it drink some coolant or oil upside down. always worked for me.

          almost feels like i cut the car off and its like the car comes back to life that second and just continues on(thats when the car jumps)

            Mine did that while accelerating onto the highway a month or two ago. It's basically just like you cycle the key off and back on real quick. I have no idea why it did that, what it was, or anything. It hasn't done that since either.

              Sounds like the VATS maybe, was going on /off. But like suggested look into testing the coils and ICM.

                  Its the chip on your key which tells the BCM to let the car start.

                    96 White M5 Camaro. Manual everything. Magnaflow cat, dynomax dual outlet axle back. Swapped to a disc rear with 3.42s and a torsen differential, kyb gr2 rear shocks, moog rear endlinks.

                      any SES codes? Was it flashing

                      could be fuel pump, coils, plugs, wire, fuel filter, ICM, MAF sensor, TPS sensor

                        When mine did it, there was nothing...no cluster lights, or codes or anything. It just hiccuped (as the OP put it) then continued on as if nothing ever happened.
