    Hey everyone!

Ok so here is what is going on, The 1997 Camaro 3.8L V6 has been running hot for a day or so, I just replaced the water pump thinking it was blowing out of the weep hole it was not that, I have figured out what it is but I am stumped about how to fix it basically on the bracket that holds the tensioner and the alternator as well as the two large radiator hoses on the passenger side, but there is a 90 degree hose that comes out of the block and into the bracket from what I can tell it is called the water heater inlet hose. it is not cracked or anything it just does not have a tight seal around the hole... but if you know what I am talking about and have fixed it please help me I am stumped!

Thats an easy fix guy. Take off the alternator and then that little elbow comes out with the tensioner assembly 15 mins to change it. You can find them at any autopart store. They go all the time.

Yep. Mine broke when I rebuilt the engine and tried to put it back together. Doh!

Those heater hoses are only available from Chevy dealers. If they are very soft when the engine is running...replace them. I had an overheating problem and replaced the radiator, all hoses and it continued. They the intake manifold gasket
and thermostat was replaced....was find for a few days then the damn head gasket went and I threw a rod and the engine was no good. BE CAREFULL THESE ENGINES LIKE TO OVERHEAT AND SELF DESTRUCT.

I overheated my engine on a hillclimb event badly, the honey comb in the cat slagged and started causing back pressure issues mid-run, and the extra stress also destroyed the water pump, it started pissing coolant in a fountain. Unfortunately I couldn't get it towed off the mountain so I had no choice but to drive it to my shop 45 minutes away, adding water every few miles. When I got to the shop and lifted the hood, there was smoke (not steam) coming from somewhere and it smelled pretty burnt. After a new exhaust and cooling system the car hasn't given me trouble since, the engine seems pretty unscathed.

Didn't know the head gasket failed, that never was mentioned in your other threads. A head gasket fails, coolant goes into the cylinder and causes hydrolock, usually resulting in catastrophic failure of the rotating assembly usually by a rod adding a glory hole in the block.

Don't give bad info. Heater hoses are NOT dealer only. You can get the 90 degree elbow in the HELP section of any parts store.

I don't think he's talking about the coolant elbows. He's talking about the heater hoses that go to the HVAC box.

You can pic up a heater hose and splice into the heater hoses if its leaking from there.
