am i screwed...

so car was overheating on thanksgiving (water pump failure). but the damage has already been done...

my mec. says he thinks it the head gaskets there is excesive pressure on radiator hoses, the coolling system is full, it blows cold out of the dash, engine smokes out of exhaust and the engine temp remains cold...

He said the gaskets are gonna run like 120 he thinks per but not sure on top of about 10-11 hours of labor.

do i just swap the motor?

I would get more qutoes from other places, swaping the motor with a lower mileage motor would be a good idea , what year and mileage is your current motor? What temp did it reach when you noticed it was over heating? You can go with a L32 motor and swap over you intakes etc. for a lower mileage motor but in the end your looking at putting alot of money into it to get it running again. Your could also part out your current motor if you get a used one to put in it.

bout 260, but it was a few times i had to get it back home. in hind sight that was the worst thing i could have done i know :twak:

but what will it take personally that is what i would like to do and i have a jeep i can drive while i do the swap and a garage to do it in.

If you've got time, the money, a garage and another car you can drive. Start looking for another motor, and just do a swap.
