Re: swaping v6 motor to oldschoolv8
You may have to get it fabricated.
I've seen a 3.8 mounted on a 3rd gen Bird and the mounts were fabricated. What this guy did was measure the dimensions, mock it up with a cardboard and then take it to a machine shop. I forgot what the gauge or thickness was, but he paid 150 for it, which wasn't too bad. I don't remember where he got rubber or buffer for it.
I don't know what your donor car is, but cradle motor mount might be fab in.
Nate, 3.4slowtogo. Installed a 3.8 on his 3rd gen bird. I think another member here awhile back installed a 3.8 on his classic toyota celica.

Re: swaping v6 motor to oldschoolv8
For best results, I would think they would have to be fabricated, unless the mounts for an LT1 would work?? What is the reasoning for the swap? I'm not asking negatively at all, I considered a similar swap a couple years back, but what are your goals with it?

Re: swaping v6 motor to oldschoolv8
I would think you would be able to fab something up since you would already be doing the whole motor and trans.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

It needed to be said.LOL Since its a motor not designed for the F-body. But I would check out the LT1 K to see how close it is for the motor mounts are.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: swaping v6 motor to oldschoolv8
I think the lt1 and sbc have extremely similar blocks, so I think it would bolt up to an LT1 crossmember, and it is a 97', so an LT1 crossmember should bolt right up to the car. Hood clearance will be another story with a carb.
Personally, my 3.8 vs an old school sbc, I'd take the 3.8, but I do a lot of highway driving so efficiency is probably more important to me.
