I was looking into aftermarket rockers... this is the cam I am running

    • CAM-901 - INTENSE™ Stage 1X Turbo Cam, duration @ .050": 211º/204º, lobe lifts: .323"/.320", valve lifts with 1.60:1 rocker arms: .516"/.513", lobe separation angle: 116º, intake centerline: 110º

This is the 1x Turbo cam package... would there be any benefit from running better rockers? I have powerband set to 6200 rpm

Any benefit? Yes, but very minimal. It wouldnt be enough to notice. I think the stock rocker ratio is 1.66 and you would probably only be able to run a 1.7. So you would gain a very small amount of lift, and shave some grams off of the valvetrain. IMO I would spend the money on another mod unless this is the last thing on the list.

With a full roller rocker, it will "free" up to about 20 h.p. On my 455 in my 68 Bird, I put aluminum wheels and full roller rockers on it and picked up about .3 in the 1/8th mile. I figured the wheels were about 1/2 of it and the rockers were the other 1/2.

I'm running 1.7 Pro mags but I think they stopped making them, their shaft mounted which is a plus. Like said they'll be min. difference running them. Your heads will need to be shaved down for extra clearance most likely.

Ok what if I had larger valve covers, what options would I have? Anytthing short of shaving/porting heads will be considered

Good luck finding aftermarket rockers like Yella Terra.
Disregard the above, zzp has 1.7 rockers back in, amazing! Too bad I have no money.

            Why not port/polish the head?

If your not cammed, might as well do 1.9's.

supporting mods, are going to make any boost more efficient and safer. yes you could get the same amount of power by adding boost. but you'll increase heat and obviously "pressure" in the head which can lead to stretched headbolts, bad head gaskets etc.

I would email Intense and ask them what they suggest.

I would spend the money else where. P&p on the heads would help you see more noticeable gains.
