The one form autozone sucks, by the 9th spring it was falling apart, we had to put it back together and bend the arms back in several times just to finish and get the tool back for the refund.

I bought this thing from autozone..its a long thin piece of metal with a hold for stud and it presses on the spring. It looks too long though?

Mine goes on top of the spring and you compress it down then get the locks out. Pretty easy to do.

Never seen one like that, you can just rent the one at Autozone for $20.

I'm going to give this a shot when I get home from work (hopefully). If it doesn't work I will try the rented one. If that doesn't work I am talking to you Steve. Haha.

On a better note, I got the timing gears off and all of the other gears off so now all I have to do is take off the cam cover thing which I needed to buy a T30 socket thing for.

Just used the socket to get the cam cover thing off. And that's pretty much all I did this evening. It's gonna be moving slow now sadly because I am so busy next two days..

We will see what I can do though.

I just got the old cam out. Put new one in, got the cam plate back ok with the gears. Put lifters back in. Now gotta go do some errands...

Springs changed out tonight. Got or all done. Now for the reassembly, tuning, and kinks. :)
