I installed the rockers and pushrods and the timing chain and tensioner and all but I have a question...
With this GT-2 cam... I got some pushrods and new springs. The springs look beefier and the rods are a tad bit longer (7.050 with wall being 0.080). Is this correct? I don't want to put everything back together and find out that I need a different lifter or something ridiculous. I was thinking of calling Comp Cams tomorrow to verify. I looked on their website though and they dont even have it listed.
Yes the ones are 7.05 in mine as well, but are alittle wider than yours.

Okay just making sure. And the rockers had no slop in them at all aftertorqued down.. is that normal? Usually the ones that ive rebuilt like the super cobra jet my father has in the garage has lots slop in the rocker.
After there TQ down they usually have no play, so its normal.

Didn't do much of anything today. Worked the whole day. I was scraping some gaskets off just a few minutes ago. That one for timing cover on the block is horrible to get off. Haha.
Today I changed the front cover seal and replaced the gasket around it and reinstalled it. Torqued it down got the crank pulley on and started scraping old gasket off of the water pump. Now I am at work. I am gonna work on it all night and all of tomorrow hopefully.
I'll be tuning it when its done so just let me know when your done.

Tonight was a success in my opinion. Got the whole front of the engine put back on. All I have left is to glassbead the valve covers and possibly paint, put intake on, put fuel rails on, hook up all connections, and check everything. Tomorrow I am waking up early got to go and buy upper intake and lower intake manifold gaskets along with TB gasket and a new crank bolt if I can find one (thanks ssms haha). Then gonna get it all put back together and MAYBE start it up! I am excited.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
