I went to check my oil earlier, and when I pulled the dipstick out it was broken off right at the full line. Am I able to put like a big speaker magnet on my oil pan to try and get that piece of metal to stick to it till i can drop the pan, or should I just stop driving the car altogether? The reason Im asking is because this is my only mode of transportation right now. Thanks guys.

Re: Got a little problem
I doubt the magnet would work from outside the pan. It would have to be inside to have the force to attract metal, outside the magnet is basically only going to contact the pan and not be strong enough to attract metal through it (alot of hot rodders put magnets inside just to be safe) unfortunately I think you should pull the pan.....

Re: Got a little problem
try just dumping the oil? Maybe you'll get lucky and it will come out with the oil?

Re: Got a little problem
the only issue I see here, is what if a small chip that you dont notice is also around in the motor somewhere...
