Ive searched on the forum but no real answer...anyone know where the IAC valve is on a 95 3.4 Camaro? Want to clean it it idles fast at times sometimes up to 1400 RPMS. What should I clean it with?
It's mounted on the throttle body. Remove two torx screws and the wire connector. There's an oil ring on the inside which you can reuse just lube it up before reinstalling. You can use throttle body cleaner to remove the carbon buildup. Iac is circled in picture.
Alright thanks man. Any specific lube I should use on it and also I was thinking of taking the tb off and cleaning it really good how hard is it to take off?
I use petroleum jelly but just about any oil will work fine. You have to remove the throttle cable bracket and cable and the bolts holding the throttle body to the manifold. It's easy to take off but you will need a new gasket to reinstall.
