  • LS7 Lifters

I'm planning to install the Abbott NA Cam in august and I'm replacing the whole valvetrain. I have CompCams 7.05 pushrods, CompCams 105 springs, & zzp modded retainers. In addition I would like to swap the lifters to LS7's. Does that mean I would need new heads or will these fit? Also do I need new lifter trays???

    Re: LS7 Lifters

LS7 lifters are relatively the same as our stock lifters but pretty much all GM sells now.

I've got them installed and have zero issues with them you can reuse the stock buckets and all that stuff.

Oh that's great so I shouldn't have to worry about pre-load then with what I have?

You shouldn't, but I'd doublecheck since you are changing other things in your valvetrain.

What I described earlier is all I'm replacing, with the exception of gaskets, timing chain, dampener, and bolts of course. So if thats the case I should be ok

Does anyone know where u can buy ls7 lifters by piece and not by set? I got a good deal on a set of 8 so now I just need 4.

I thought I read they were the same part # as L36 lifters?

                Re: LS7 Lifters

Well the original lifters for our cars no longer exist GM uses the ls7's for almost all engines across the board now. And I gathered all 12 now so issue resolved :)

                  Re: LS7 Lifters

Makes me feel stupid for buying the comp oe's. I heard the LS7 lifters can sping 6500 stock.

                    Re: LS7 Lifters

yeah they can withstand the higher rpm's rather well. The comp oe's are good too just more expensive i believe. ZZP sells the LS7's for $109, and I think the OE's are $150

I never noticed LS7 lifters on there. Just the Comp OE's and OE-R's.

You can find deals on the lifters on LS1tech as well. Think I got mine brand new for 80.00. They are noisy but the LS1 is a noisy engine compared to the 3.8. Do they make the 3.8's sound like a sewing machine as well?

How do the LS7's compare performance-wise to CompCams OE's and OE-R's?
