  • How to lift engine

I'm not sure if this is classified as an "advance engine" post, but I have a question for someone that has never done this before. Everyone recommends lifting the engine a few inches for access to oil pan removal.

Does anyone have any pictures or a link to show where to hook up some chains for lifting? Do you have to disconnect the tranny or unbolt for this?

I've never removed any engine mounting bolts or hooked up for lifting, so I have no idea how to do this.

    Thanks for your help.

If your just looking to move it up for the oil pan , just use a block of wood under the oil pan and jack the engine up from there.
