For that kind of investment of parts and labor, you could buy a 2013 Camaro new,
with a warranty. U should consider what U have after U are done. It will ad little
to the value as it will be considered against its age and what else is available and
          newer.

            [Sarcasm]
Why buy a new camaro since 'they'll do nothing but depreciate and leave you with a car payment for up to 60 months? Why buy a car to begin with? Why mod cars at all since it doesn't help resale value?

Just get a bicycle, they hold their value rather well when properly maintained.
            [/Sarcasm]

            With that aside...

The T-5 will be on borrowed time unless you take some protective measures for it. One way is to get the torque arm off the trans tailhousing by using a tunnel mounted torque arm. Looking at at least $450 or so for that. Then you'll also want to have it refreshed or given a performance build with updated internals from somebody like GeForce, etc. etc.

There's a few guys on another board that have managed to do rather well with drag racing their T5's but it comes down to a lot of thought and some money on the table initially to preserve it. One of these guys being a stock eliminator racer so he isn't going to be gentle on the strip.

You will need to determine if you are in fact going turbocharged or if you are going nitrous. 9.5:1 is actually higher compression than stock, not fun for a turbo and you'll need to find the right camshaft for your power adder. A good company can design the cam to work as a package with your ported intake/heads and whatever you use. Some cam designs can differ depending on the turbocharger you use as well.

I really wouldn't recommend a flowmaster either, but that comes down to personal taste. I'd say run a large 3" turbo muffler off summit and an electric cutout for when you want to get rowdy. If you go nitrous, get those longtube headers if you can find them on the market still.

I wouldn't bore the engine over unless you absolutely needed it. You have issues later and need a rebuild, you won't have much if any meat left to bore/hone. When using ARP rod bolts and main studs, machine work will be needed to clear the rod bolts and the main studs have more clamping power, you'll need to have the mains align bored to make sure everything is good down the road.

Not to be stealing a thread or anything, I just find this interesting. My question would be, what brand of electric cutout?

I got one off eBay. It is OK. Came with the pipe cutout flange as well for a low price. Can't remember the company though.

build what you want to build. It is very unique to see a fast V6 F-body.

Either build a T5 ( G-force) or go Auto with a nice stall.. Also might consider a 12 bolt rear instead of trying to use a 10 bolt.. They tend not to like power all to much.

Dont forget tune! A high flow cat I would suggest Catco 3inch and do the Pipe mod to it!!

                    Re: Need Some Insight

Sorry guys had to work and school before work, havent had alot of time to check back. But these ideas are great. I think i want to stick with the stick and not an auto but will check into the T5 (G-Force). Some people have different ideas of where people should spend there money at like a new camaro or a Z28. I just want to be different, i dont plan on selling the car or worried about the value of it. I just want something nice, and something i have built myself. The way it looks i have a grand total to spend of 9,500.00 within the next sixs months. I didn't really look into the rear end to much lol that was an over site. But i do agree with getting a 12 bolt rear, and i think i am going to keep the stock bore but turbo charge it. Just in case something happens i would like to have the option to rebuild the motor compared to buying a new one. Anyone know of a good guy in Central Ohio to tune the 3.8L? Honestly with the ideas i had i hope to be around 350hp-400hp but will see what happens. Cut outs is in excellent idea, i heard one on youtube but didnt sound that great, it must be a thing where i would have to be there to hear what it sounds like. I have spoke with Abbot Racing about the heads and cams alrdy, i am hoping to at least get the top end of the motor done in about 3 weeks, once i get the parts. I also noticed that there was a mods page 1998 silverbird i was actually looking at getting the A high flow cat I would suggest Catco 3inch. This might be a stupid question but did the Z28 come with a 10 bolt or a 12 bolt rear end? O yea and the labor i would do myself of course its cheaper that way :)

                      Its a 10 bolt, if upgading I would look into a 9".

Bore the motor out. If your gonna build it then get every bit you can out of it! If something breaks then just get another 200.00 3.8 and start over if you want. You can find these motors everywere now.
