Engine Rebuild manual?

Hey i was wondering what manual you guys use???

I just picked up a 97 RS with 200k 1 owner...blown head gasket :(

Im not a fan of that front end but I had to get it. I am gonna do a stock rebuild and Im wondering if you guys get books or a free online manual?

Haynes manual has alot of good info on a rebuild.

I use the 1995 Factory Service Manual Update GMP/95-F-UPD. This manual is dedicated to the 3800 Series II V6 as installed in the Camaro/Firebird mid year.
It covers all systems, and section six applies to the engine rebuild. Hope that helps.

You can go to any GM dealer and get the shop manual, typically $150, but it includes everything from torque specs to connector pin outs.

Thanks for the torque specs. Im looking for step by step as well. I may need to smack the cam or the crank to keep it aligned, I may need to NOT do anything but bolt it right back together lol but I need a manual so I know all the tricks

I can build chevy 350's all day hahaha.

The machinist said this was his first 3.8 that looked like this....i hate that ha. but he has been doin it for years and has many national records so Im confident
