96 camaro 3.8 5 speed .30 on the pistons if it matters. Ok I had this car about 4 years ago and sold it and its found its way back home. It ran great when it left but since then the guy that had it dropped something in the engine and damaged a piston, so he replaced the one piston and did a rebuild. Ok every since then it has had a horrible vibration between 1500 - 5000 rpm in or out of gear. Its bad enough it vibrated the bell housing bolts out. Its not a miss it runs fine but just a solid vibration. So anyone ever had this problem or any ideas where to start don't want to sink a ton of money into a possibily bad engine.

My money would be on an un-balanced rotating assembly. There is a good chance the piston that was replaced does not match the piston that was removed. A .030 oversized piston is rare for the 3800 block. Most oversized pistons for that block a .010 or .020.

Balancer is good. Yea the engine was bored before I got it I didn't know it till he told me but it might be that because he probably put the cheapest thing he could find to replace the busted piston
