Anyone ever order an engine from these guys? Looking into all my options for motors.
    3.4 L V6 94 Camaro.
    The email response.

Thank you for considering Accurate Engines. I have included a price to upgrade your cams to a mild Comp cam to increase your HP. I am presuming you already have added headers to increase the HP? Please see the written estimate attached to this e-mail in PDF form. If you could verify receipt of this e-mail either with a call directly to my desk at 616-965-3059 or by e-mail it is certainly appreciated.

From our stock we would ship you or your mechanic a "naked long block". Just swap the Head covers, Timing covers, Oil Pan, Manifolds, and Electronics from your old engine to the "naked long block", then place your old engine onto the shipping pallet the engine came on, strap it down securely, then call the 1-800 number on the R+L Carriers Bill of Lading and R+L will pick up the core.

The engine is completely rebuilt or re-manufactured and assembled with

-- New main and rod bearings
    -- New rings
    -- New Cams & Lifter
    -- New pistons
    -- New timing components
    -- New oil pump
    -- New overhaul gasket set
    -- Block bore to .030
    -- Crank ground to .010
    -- Connecting rods reconditioned.
    -- Cylinder heads completely reconditioned
-- 3 year Unlimited mileage warranty
    -- Optional 100,000 mile warranty for $69/year
-- Optional “No Questions Asked” labor warranty for a one-time payment of $395

The total would be around $3500. I do like the idea of a brand new motor.
I asked for more specs on the cam etc.
I can also get a used one from the salvage yard for $650.
I'm not sure I need a new motor yet, but I'm trying to nail down the cost of "worst case scenario".
    No I'm not interested in a v8 swap. :-)

That's not a brand new engine. It says in the add that it is rebuilt. What's wrong with your engine?

              Re: Accurate Engines

You can buy an exact camaro like yours for a lot less. Junk motor is your best option, but then again it is a gamble.

                Re: Accurate Engines

Wow. As stated above, you could find a whole replacement car with a good engine running for $2500, so why even think of going that route?

Edit - there are 7 Firebirds and 5 camaros on craigslist here in el paso for under $3500, most with clean titles.

Honestly most v6 fbodies are around $3500, I know you wouldn't sell the car anytime soon, but you won't get much if any of that investment back. I'd look for a low milage part out of anything from a v6 fbody up to a 2008 grand Prix. Bet you could find a wrecked new Prix with the series III 3.8l and swap it
