Re: so much for my budget l67 build
a camaro doesn't come with an l67 and a blower. This is out of a 2000 grand prix gtp and most definitely needs premium. Otherwise you get knock and pretty pistons like this. i paid 400 and i'm getting most of my money back by selling the supercharger and such. Still sucks though.

Re: so much for my budget l67 build
You should of bought a newer engine like a L26 and get the newer heads and forged bottom end with better rods.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: so much for my budget l67 build
my car's already turbocharged. it was a craigslist deal. i'll do more research before i buy anything else. i thought about using these rods and getting forged pistons. but im a cheap ***. I have a hard time justifying 900 bucks or so for just pistons. I think i'm just gonna focus on getting the t56 in and getting it back on the road. try to save up some money and keep my eyes open.
now, i've got 2 3.8 blocks lying around. anybody need a boat anchor?

I did my rebuild along time ago and its still holding up great, 9.5.1 Diamond pistons and L32 rods when they first came out. Plus other extras and its been over 10 years.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: so much for my budget l67 build
It's a common misconception that the L67/L32 pistons are forged. They're still hypereutectic just like the L36/L26, just lower compression. The L32 uses sinter forged powdered metal rods. It's a budget friendly improvement over the cast iron ones in the Series II compared to going with the billet h-beam ones on one of the vendor sites.
Crank still cast iron in Series II and III.
