  • Found LS1 for $2200..worth it?

I have a 1999 firebird v6. I found a used LS1 motor (complete engine with all front accessories, wiring harness, and computer) with 100,000 miles for $2200. The engine is still in his car and running good. Does that sound like a good deal? I would have to buy the tranny and some of the smaller stuff to finish the swap but I've seen people trying to sell other LS1 engines for about $3000. What do you guys think?

Is it with center bolt or perimeter bolt valve covers?

Whats the difference in the 2 Warshike? Sounds like a okay deal on the engine( what trans do you plan on running? If its a T-56 their expensive like $1000-$1500), I would have it gone through and rebuilt before installing, thats just me though since it has 100K on it. Also which years did the Ls6 intake become stock on the LS1, is it 00-02's?

You can buy a 5.3L or 6L truck engine for less than a 1K.

It will have less miles and make just as much power.
