• 3.4L tune

Ok, now i know what everyone is going to say... there is no tuning software for a 3.4L other than maybe having fastchips charge me 350 for a basic job that doesnt even take into account things like cam and such and is little more than the JET chip i have now. I know i could go out and drop 2000 on a stand alone engine management system, but if i had that cash, id have a v8... anycase, what can i do to get a cam and such dialed in for better performance? im gonna get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, obviously a full tuneup, that sorta standard stuff, but is there anything else i can do so my car doesnt run worse after i put the time into it? now i know that this is gonna sound bad, but since most sensors like the TPS and such just basically record voltages (or resistance) dependant on where they are along their range of motion, is it possible to trick the computer by wiring in different resisitors or potentiometers? yes, i know that sounds completely horrible and rediculous to do to one's car but there has to be something I can do so as to not have a horrible running car. ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time

I guess fastchip got tired of tuning... back when I got mine done it wasn't just a "basic" job and they would also tune for you if you gave them cam specs...

Supposedly there is a cable and program that works on the LT1s that will also work with our cars, but we tried it before and it didn't work...

I don't know what else there is for you. Oh, and I wouldn't mess wit hthe TPS. I had one of those TPS enhancer things... worked for a while, but it actually started screwing up and I had to unplug it. It was making my car short shift, I'd be in 3rd gear at 10mph. Plus, you can't even tell a difference with it.

That is the site that I was talking about that supposedly reprograms our cars, but I don't know of anyone who has used them.

It might be easier for you to get that cable and take it to a shop to actually dyno tune it, but then you have to find a shop cool enough to do the custom work and hope they know what they're doing.

Here is an email I got from fastchip.
Hello,
Those 3.4L V6 engines normally gain 15 to 16 hp at the wheels, and 25ft lbs more torque. I also remove the top speed limiter, turn the cooling fan on sooner to improve cooling, and firm up the shifts on the automatic cars. We can also program for different gears or tire sizes.
That car has a reprogrammable PCM (computer), not a chip you can just plug in. The only way I can do one is to have the vehicle
or it's PCM here for the reprogramming. If you are too far away to drive here (Tulsa, OK) you could pull the PCM and ship it to me for reprogramming. I can normally turn one around within 48 hrs. If you drove here I would do it while you wait. The cost would be $300.00, +
freight if shipping is involved.
We can also send you an exchange PCM (if we have a "core" on hand at the time), already reprogrammed for your vehicle. If we do that we need a refundable $500.00 "core charge" until we get your other PCM back here to replace the one we sent you. We would also need your vehicle's vin, as it goes in the PCM. If you used a Visa or
Mastercard, and got the other PCM back here in less than two weeks, to replace the one we sent, you wouldn't even see the core charge on your bill. If you failed to get it back here in two weeks, you would then own two PCMs. If interested, please call us @ 918-446-3019.

Thanks, Ed

Is the top speed limiter the only mod you have for 3.4L camaros? Can you reprogram for a 3.73 gear change as well?
Harry Garvin

<<<<

I thought this would be of some help for you guys looking for reprogramming and getting rid of that dumb speed limiter.
