i'm thinking about rebuilding some heads i have laying access to, with upgraded valve springs and all that. i was wondering if anyone knew the stock specs for the valve train parts (height, loads, all that kinda stuff), so i can compare to some parts i'm lookin for or know where i can get a set of good springs, retainers, lifters, etc...?

Im not sure on specs of the stock valvetrain parts. If your rebuilding the heads you might as well get new stuff. You can get most your valvetrain components from compcams. LS1 springs work and I know they have a bunch of different models available. I have the LS1 915 springs. 915's are older model, you can get a set of 916's or 918's which are newer. I dont see any need to be replacing lifters. It really just depends on what cam your gonna run. Headwork with stock cam im not sure if thats gonna make a huge difference. So if your gonna do the heads I say match the heads to a new cam and do both at the same time.

that is the agenda at this point. i was kinda thinkin of going full roller, but that may be too expensive, might have to stick with flat tappet. anyway, i just figured since i was gonna have the heads apart, might as well try to replace what i can.
