  • Time for a 3.4 rebuild!! Need more power

Well , Im gonna be rebuilding my 3.4L in a couple of months and I need to know if the SuperSix Power Pack is something I should think about? Would It come with all the things I would need to rebuild my engine (roller rockers, ect.) . Give me some info on this subject and where I should go to get my stuff and how much power would I get out of a rebuild ? thanks

It comes with upper intake, lower intake, heads, and the cam I think. Stockv6Cam is going to be testing it for super six and will be able to tell you more. Super six's website would be a good place to start looking, maybe contact them for really in depth details with it.

Yep, as CamaroL32 said it has the upper and lower intake manifolds, cam, and heads. It doesn't come with the rockers, pushrods, or any of the gaskets you'll need. If you really want to rebuild the engine for some big numbers here's what you should do. First get the PowerPak, then go to AMMPerformance and get their 1.6 roller rockers w/ high energy pushrods (150 bucks through them and that's what i'm doing). Get the full Felpro gasket set through them. Then find somewhere that has a bigger throttle body. I should have the PowerPak on my car by the end of this month so I can tell you the gains much better then. This package should make a huge difference on our 3.4's.

While the Powerpak will definitely offer very good gains, the cam that was selected was quite mild and the head flow numbers are a little on the low side. Tom is a VERY good guy to work with and I respect his work very much, but I feel that this package leaves a little room for more serious power depending on how extreme you want to go.

If you feel like doing a lot of work you could go the route Russel went.

He swapped on 3400 Gen III aluminum heads and intake onto a 3.4L block.

If I remember correctly he saw decent gains with that without a cam.

The swap did require some fabrication and ingenuity however.

Your computer would not have to be reprogrammed with the SSM Package. It SHOULD be reprogrammed forbest performance gains, but doesn't have to be. This is generally true for most of the grinds out there for the 3.4L V6

There are no known HP gains at this point , and I would guess it would be good for a daily driver , it wouldnt hurt.

Alright, time to answer a few questions.

                          A) The gains on the PowerPak have not been determined as of yet. I have a before dyno and will have the powerpak installed within the next week or two. After that I'll get an after dyno and see what the gains were.

                          B) The cam is a little small and I'm sure when you're ordering the package you could give him some better specs to use on the cam. One cam shouldn't cost more than another in this case.

Doesn't the JET chip "marry" itself to the car so that people can't do that? I'm pretty sure I've heard it does.
