  • New Injectors?

    I searched, nothing helped me....

I just put a cam in my car. I havent got it tuned yet.

On higher RPMs, 5300 +,my car will drop off and lose power. It still gains speed but slowly and is like its not getting enough fuel I wasnt sure if this was because of the car not being tuned or if my stock injectors are dont have the balls anymore for my new set up? Should I wait til after I get a tune to figure it out?

But then again I dont want to shell out $550 for a dyno tune and then have to get it tuned again because i need new injectors.

You need to have it dynoed to see what your a/f is and where you are really starting to lose power.

        Fuel filter, start there.
A dyno tune to find a fuel problem, I don't think he is made of money.

I'm getting it Dyno Tuned when my tax return comes in. I guess I'll get that done and see how it goes from there.

Just get it on a dyno.. I put my motor in a month ago and hooked up my wideband to it and to a surprise my a/f was at 11.2 which is really rich, I also have a Walbro 255 pump.. I leaned it out 6 percent and got it around 12.8.. I am running stock injectors with a pretty big cam and ported heads and intakes..

I'm pretty sure mine is running lean. It will fall on its face at higher RPM's like it doesnt have enough fuel. It doesnt smell rich either.

Stock injectors on the 3.8's will support a lot more fuel than you run in stock trim. It needs a tune. If you've got a buddy to get HPtuners its half the cost of a dyno tune, plus you don't have to go back and tune everytime you do something different. You just need to know what you are doing or have a friend who does.

I see you have a 3.8 so you can't give it the timing ajustment it needs with a timing light and wrench.
I think you should get the HPtuners, work on it and you will figure it out.

With a GT2 cam and supporting mods you have you will need injectors. Nightrida called it, search GTP injectors and you will get the info you need.
