• 3.4L Performance buld-up? Anyone tried?

Got a '94 Camaro 3.4L, Auto and am seriously contemplating buying a separate core for a buildup while I am driving mine around. I expect that with performance pistons, healthy cam, port& polished upper and lower intake manifolds, Big bore throttle body, say 58mm LT1 "adapt to fit", I should be able to get 240+ HP @ the crank no problem. Any suggestions/ideas to help me in my decision other than dropping a V8!?! I want to keep it somewhat original and a V8 ain't gonna' cut it.

I think there are a lot of people that would fit into this category.

Check out the different packages on www.ftpp.net
I am hoping I will have some spare time over summer and order some valve train parts from there I would like to get a cam from that site too, but I don't know if I"ll pass smog with any of those. I am probably going to order a compucam from my dad's book.

But yeah, with bolt-ons and a rebuild you should ahve 240hp at the crank. I think we're hoping for about 20rwhp from the cam, heads, and valve train...

it'd be pretty easy to hit 240 with alumnium heads and a well designed cam and a tiny shot of crack

Aluminum heads can't be done without some pretty heavy modifications.

Here is some info on the swap:

I wanted to do the swap, but found out how hard it was... I don't want to go through all of that trouble, but maybe some of you guys might

Thanks for the quick replies, a few of you I might email for your expertise on this engine/car. I've only had my Camaro for about 7 months now but I still love it and want more POWER!
