Any updates on this? It seemed to help a crapton for the grand prix engines at the cost of a minimal amount of low end torque, as for height i would go with the same height as the one they tested that went well with the grand prix 3800 that intense makes. Also, i know the lower manifold ports are angled but are the ports connecting to it from the upper plenum angled or do they go straight down then curve inside the lower intake manifold, b/c if the bottom of the upper plenum goes straight down, than the holes in the spacer could do the same, the air would just go down further before it started its curve in the lower manifold.

This is from intense-racing's site concerning their intake manifold spacer for the gp 3800, ours is different in style but we should get the same effect from a spacer of the same size made for out manifold.

This little HV insert is, in one word, simply ASTONISHING what it does for the top end of a significantly modded L36 with a stock camshaft. What was also surprising was how little low end power was sacrificed to achieve the huge gains made in the upper RPM range. The loss in sub-4,000 RPM power is hardly even noticeable. This mod doesn't begin to truly come into its own until after 5,000 RPM. The engine no longer fades away slowly after 5,300 RPM but continues to light on fire.

In previous states of modding, the ZZP test car never produced MAF readings above 22.9 pounds per minute. In the runs made after the insert was installed, readings over 24.0 pounds per minute were common. Even when the engine had twelve back to back WOT runs from 10 to 60 MPH. For those interested in WHP numbers, the Peak HP RPM (~5,100) gains are only 9 WHP. But that's only the short end of the story. When then stock intake starts choking off the engine's capability to breath and has the HP and Torque curves heading south, the HV insert keeps both figures hanging on. So much so that by 5,800 RPM, the HV insert is able to add 30 WHP to the power curve! That is what is astonishing with this mod. When complemented with the right pieces, this mod is a must have for anyone who wants the utmost HP out of his L36 engine.

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    - Each ZZP L36 High Velocity Intake Manifold Insert includes a tube of G.M. Assembly Adhesive and detailed installation instructions.

Hello everyone. I am posting here to hopefully get this spacer project going. I made a prototype spacer back in early August. I gave it free of charge to Kris (crappyday21).

      I then receive this message:

Hey, Kris (crappyday21) is going to be selling his car so i am going to take over the beta test for him/you on the intake spacer. I post on the board as Blazzin Joe.
      mymilkexpired@mymilkexpired.com

      Ok, no problem.

Then on 8/23, I get this reply:

Im going to try and get this done this weekend. I will take pictures for you from start to finish.

I have emailed repeatly since then, with no response.

I would like to do this, but feel that I am getting screwed right now. Hopefully this can be taken care of and I can get spacers made for those who have emailed me about them. I paid $250 to have this prototype made, and gave it away trying to help get this going.

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give.

It fits between the upper and lower.

One between the lower and heads would work better, but would require decking the lower manifold, since it is fits on the heads in a "V".

One inline engines, this is not a problem though.

          shows what it looks like.

I was reading replies and yes, I can make them for the 3.4L. They would be a lot less, since they are a simplier design.

What thickness would 3.4L owners want?

I emailed Joe, asking for the spacer back since he has not done the install. Is there someone who can test this?

It will. That is why I am trying to get a successful test fit, so that I can provide any bolts, etc. needed.

Well, since he will not respond to any emails, and hasn't returned it, I will probably have to look into a civil suit for it. It cost me money to make it, and I gave it away with the contract that I would get testing, pictures, and a write-up. Very fair if you ask me.

But I will not make more and get screwed again at this time. I guess that now it is time for you guys to apply some pressure internally to him, if you want this made. I got quite a few emails of people that seemed interested, and to those people, I am sorry this took this turn.

                    BTW, his email is: mymilkexpired@mymilkexpired.com

and he goes by: "Blazzin Joe" on this list.

I hope everyone here sees where I am coming from on this. I hope to do make these at one point.
