I'm thinking about custom making an intake manifold for the 3.4 Maybe something like L98's one. Does anyone has some pics of the 3.8's intake manifold. Maybe it can be used as a base. The more detailed the pictures the better.

Please let me know if someone has actually tried to modify a 3.8 intake to fit a 3.4\'94 Firebird \"El Pichon\" 3.4L A4
Mods: CAI,NO CAT,NO EGR,
NO PCV,TB BYPASS,SLP IAT module,
Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler 2.5\" Dual, low temp stat, fan swtich
35 years of Firebird

Look for my old post in advanced tech on intake spacing, as I linked to a green-engined mustang with a custom made intake. Best starting point is to look at those pictures.

Intake Manifold spacers would be very effective on our cars - I'm just waiting on someone to do one!2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Maybe I'll try that now that I'm getting my intake manifold out. I wanna take it out to see if I can custom fit a 3.8 intake or a supercharger from a series 1 3800. I know it sounds crazy but I'll see what I can do.\'94 Firebird \"El Pichon\" 3.4L A4
Mods: CAI,NO CAT,NO EGR,
NO PCV,TB BYPASS,SLP IAT module,
Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler 2.5\" Dual, low temp stat, fan swtich
35 years of Firebird

A 3.8 intake manifold will NOT fit on to a 3.4. The 3.8 is a 90 degree engine where as the 3.4 is a 60 degree engine. On a 90 degree V the space inside the V is 90 degress apart from each other and this goes the same for a 60 degree V. The V on a 60 degree engine are closer togther than on a 90degree engine.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

Hello everyone.
I have been reading these forums for a while and finally signed on.
I have a 2000 Grand Prix 3.8L, so always looking for tips, etc. that I might be able to use.
I currently have a lower intake to plenum gasket for a 2000 3.8L from a Camaro that I am working on making a 1/2" thick phenolic spacer from.
I make spacers for quite a few other vehicles, and will be making these available soon.2000 Grand Prix GT - 3.8L modded and N20
1986 Fiero GT - complete build-up, soon with LS2

are you suggesting making the runners (they're internal, but still) longer due to the spacer?
that wouldbe nice for top end...2011 Camaro LS 6M, in black.

I remember reading the same thing somewhere also. Looks like we may have more than one option for an intake spacer now. Michael Huff
92 RS, 98 V6, 97 SS, 00 Z28
http://www.carolinafbodyclub.com/

This would make the runners slightly (1/2") longer, so that might make a slight difference in tuning.
But the big benefit of this is keeping the intake manifold from getting heatsoaked so much from the engine.
My 3.8L in my GP has the plastic manifold like the 5.7L, so this is not as much as a problem.
Does the coolant flow through the manifold to the t-body, or does the t-body get coolant from a separate hose? Mine gets it from the manifold, so I just blocked mine.
If the RWD 3.8L gets the coolant from the lower manifold, I could just leave that hole off of the spacer, effectively blocking all coolant from the t-body.2000 Grand Prix GT - 3.8L modded and N20
1986 Fiero GT - complete build-up, soon with LS2
