I have a 1998 firebird 3.8 and we all know that when you push the gas pedal down that it pulls on a wire that opens up your fuel injections. I was wondering, would it do anything if you modified that line or the spring loaded lever that it goes to to get more jump out of it or even more hp?

    Uhh.

The accelerator pedal pulls on the throttle cable and opens the 'throttle', not your fuel injectors. The throttle body lets more air into the engine, and the car compensates for that air with more fuel, producing more power and making the engine rev faster.

There is nothing you can do to your throttle cable that will improve your performance... except for hooking up that throttle cable to an LT1/LS1, or a really nicely modded V6.
