• LS1 swap, is A4--> M6 possible?

    I have an A4 3.8. I am looking into a LS1 swap and I would rather have an M6 than another A4.

    Since I'd have to get a new transmission anyways, couldn't I just take the A4 console out and put in a M6 console (to make it fit)?

    I realize I'd have to install the clutch pedal in there some how, drilling through the firewall perhaps? Anyone know anything about this?

    I believe there are some posts in the drivetrain forum on swapping transmissions.

    It can be done. Seems like there are some links in some of those posts too.

      I looked at all of those and none answered my question. The guys that have done A4--->M5 have replaced flywheel, etc but that wouldn't be the issue in this case. I was thinking more along the lines of the pedal/linkage

        there is a post about doing an a4 - m6 on ls1tech somewhere, i'll have to find it, i'm wanting to do the same thing, to do this, you need the trans., bell housing, pedals, clutch, shifter and all that jazz, then for the wiring, you need the computer(or have it reprogrammed using ls1edit), and some pigtail things, i can't remember what their called, for the reverse lights and the such...
