  • Fastest n/a v6?

Who has the fastest n/a v6? I was just wondering cause i am either going to turbo my camaro or do a n/a set up. I was thinking about doing i/h/e with high flow cats, the supersix motorsports heads, a good size cam, hardened pushrods, a little bigger injectors, ignition, 3.42 posi, and some tunning. Just wondering if anyone has a simular set up to that, and if they do what they run at the track.

my setup will be done this summer, i will have ported heads w/1.900 intake adn 1.55 exhaust valves, cam, ported intake, longtube headers, but w/3.73's/posi, probably some LT1 injectors, tuning, according to some calculations i have i should run some mid-low 13's at sea level and mid-low 14's here at altitude BUT those are formulas, we will see what happens when its done...

from what i know, the fastest n/a was magnus with a 3.8?the most respectable thing was that he did most of the work himself, porting cam swaps etc.

the fastest fbody i know of is shirls camaro, high 11s on boost and nos with stock internals, pretty impressive, tried emailing her but no response.

its great to know that we can hit elevens in the quarter on stock internals, makes me very happy, but i had other plans.i use mine as a daily driver,so i didnt wanna go crazy, but we can prob see 10s in these motors with forged internals and say,12 to 15 psi or lower with a heavy nos shot.

        i wanted to go with
        stage 3 intense heads
stage 3 intense racing blower cam
        oer comp cams lifters
        lightweight intese push rods
        custom programming from dhp
        nos 100 shot
ati procharger twin intercooled lt1 kit set at 8 psi
        yank or vigilante 3000 stall
        3.42s already have
        eaton posi,stronger than zexel torsen
        ported tb,upper lower intakes,walbro 255 pump
        28 lb or 32lb injectors

if people are running 11s and 12s on blowers with stock internals and/or nos, then i imagine it to be even better with some good flowing heads, intakes, cam, fuel and some good programming.

Why dont you just get a Pig a$$ Procharger or Ballbearing Turbo and run 20+ lbs of boost and dont use the spray?? Are you going to lower the compression to handle the Boost?? Nitrous likes high compression!!

                      NItrous likes all compression...

and nitrous works wonderfull on boosted cars... it cools the intake temps alot(like an innercooler does.

see thats the whole issue.i didnt wanna get involved in tearing down the motor, just wanted to get bolt on power.originally i wanted to go with 8.5 to 1 compression with forged pistons and rods, then go with what i listed above.but when i discovered a grand for rods and pistons, and was quoted 3500 at dynotech in new jersey for the rebuild i thought that to be too high a cost for a daily driven v6.ya i could get l67 rods and pistons, but whats their compression?
for that,i could just get the intense forged short block, and bolt up from there.i guess theres no cheap way to go at this level.

so as an alternative,i figured on top end with heads, cam, fuel, intakes and tb work, then just bolt on the ati with a conservative shot for once in a while fun.

thought of doing just a used GTP motor? They can handle a decent amount of boost...

Can you jsut put your heads and intake on, and run them in your car?

won't be ideal but they have been sold for less then $500, just put it in and it will hold alot more boost then a n/a L36 ever could. If GTPs can hit 13s on a stock block, we shoudl be able to hit low 13s.

My rebuild is costing me 2000 with parts included.. I have the H beam rods, ross pistons.. my machine shop is charging me a 1000 for putting my motor together , maching the block, Balencing, and whatever else it takes.. The rods and piston are a Grand..

How do you like you QA1's?? Are they the 12 way adjustables??
