i havent installed them yet,i meant to seperate my sig with the words YET TO INSTALL,but im lazy...
i drove in another v6 that has them in the front, while they feel great, the springs are a little soft, but turning the knob up to around 8 stiffens the struts to compensate.
the ones i have are 12 way adjustables, but for the rear they dont make springs for the rear,so im just gonna use 1 le springs when i get the level 1 slp kit.
never mind the above question, according to steffans site, the l67 pistons rods etc can be had for 600 and change or so,but he had them polished.with an intercooler (the kit i wanna use from ati has a twin flow) 15 psi shouldnt be a prob....decisions decisions

hmm it seems ive been quoted the highest rebuild price on 3 message boards.1 to 2 grand seems to be the average...3500 with pistons and rods (forged)seems steep to me,time to look elsewhere.

are you asking them to supply the parts(ie forged pistons and rods) or is that just for machining and installation?
I bought a used GTP shortblock for 89 dollars, Im gonna buy GTP 3800 series III rods(forged)for roughly $200, diamond piston(forged)for $700, used SSM heads $500, used SSM Intakes $300 and throw in the machining work $1000, for an over exagerated total of $3000 for a fully assembled and balanced
engine
That is a really rough estimate, and I was over pricing some things, and their are gaskets and odds and ends that need to be purchased but its a forged internal engine for less than that 3500 dollar quote you got.

wow ya he wants to rip me a new one straight through the phone lmao...

quoted 3500 for, removing, disassembling engine, installing forged pistons, rods, pins, reassembling engine and dropping it back in.no mention of machining or anything else involved.he supplies the pistons and rods....

then he wanted 500 for 2 billet main caps,100 each to install, and 200 for align honing them...

he wouldnt charge me to install the intense stage 3 heads and cam,or the ported ssm intakes.why would he anyway, its part of the reassembly.but 4400?

for that price, the intense shortblock with forged l32 rods, and diamond forged 8.5 to 1 already in it with arp everything for 4000 is cheaper, and i dont want to spend that much.all this is just making me wanna do the heads, cam, intakes and just bolt on a blower and call it a day...

i just want to take a minute to say that dynotech is a higher caliber of shop than most.while i am sure that they would do a great job,and do stand behind their work,im just saying its too high a price for what im willing to spend.
intense racing works directly with them,as their east coast installers for their parts.and their highly recomended in the buick gn world and the gtp guys,so they know their way in and out of our motors...guess it just means if you want the best you gotta spend the most...

thats the easy part, the removal and and reinstallation of the motor is the hardest/most time consuming part....

from what Ive read you have alot going into this motor you might want to spend a couple extra bucks and make sure you get some good gaskets. Intense sells some MLS heads gaskets that I think would be some cheap ins. at the least. Just my .02
