cam and heads were on the car too, they also had problems so 250+ should not be a problem on a auto and I would think more like 270 on a manual car

The thing is, the FWD car they tested at 240 whp also ran a 13.4 1/4 mile, a RWD car should go aproximately .3-.5 faster. That's potential high 12's. 2k for that kind of potential N/A without doing an LS-1 swap is worth it.

Heads, cam, stroker kit, labor, tuning, and you might be looking at close to 4-5k.

damn it if i would have knowen about it b/f i got all the other stuff till i read this

We tested in a boosted application and raised power until the motor failed. The engine ended up making ~375WHP and well over 400ft/lbs to the wheels before the crank snapped in half! The kits we are shipping now have some minor strength improvements from the original design but we do not recommend using nitrous or boost. The kit was designed for NA applications and therefore the parts are of minimal weight to maximize HP.

That's about the same as the LS-1 swap without the headache of rewiring the whole car.. :D

I know that higher shifting isnt required, but since the rotating mass is WAY lighter cant we shift at a higher rpm if we want...did they test to see how high we can shift with this? Thanks

You would probably want to upgrade all that stuff during the rebuild anyway. Especially when upgrading the cam shaft.. :D

Eh this is of no use to the boost boys :( Higher compression = bad. How can it run mid 13s with only 240whp on a FWD car? LS1s have around 280-290rwhp and they only run mid 13s themselves. Something seems a bit off to me.

Remember dyno numbers aren't everything. Jason's (Co-owner of TSP) wife's car is a 35th SS, and dyno'd like at or under 300rwhp, and ran a very low 13 even at our altitude (4500+ feet that night). Our last project Z28 car ran 10.78@124mph naturally aspirated...and dyno'd a best of 408rwhp!!! Numbers don't mean you are fast, the setup and combination of parts (even if they dyno low) makes the track times. My $.02

would a regular engine setup for a turbo be better than this engine setup for a turbo. what one would be better, i know more ci the more powere but the sight said only 8 or so pounds. also what about the compression. with this kit can you get pistons to make a 8.5 to 1 compressioned 4.1 stroker? i want a turbo and this kit but would this kit be weaker than a regular forged setup on an engine.
