  • What part needs to be grinded down for high lift cams

    I think it is the vavle pedestal or somethin like that does anyone have a pic of what it should look like or what parts to grind thanks for any help

      Thats not really what im askin for i want to know what part of do i mill. Like maybe in a pic so i can do it or a machine shop can do it cause as u know my cam is big

        I really dont know for sure what part. Take it to a machine shop and have them do it. They know. Local machine shop around my town quoted me very cheap to do this.

        So when you going to get this cam installed anyway? We both got our cams the same time and we are both sitting on them. I cant take it any longer, mine is going in very soon.

          Thats why im askin i plan to build the heads in a couple of weeks and order all the gaskets then i will do it.

            You mill the seat that the valve seal sits on.. so the seal sits lower and isn't crushed by the retainer.

            That blue thing is the seal, and it sits on a pedastal.. the pedastal gets milled

            Now i'm not sure if the valve guides are removed when this is done... as Tom@Supersix did my head work.

              Thank you very much magnus that is just what i was lookin for is it a trial and error for me to just mill away untill it clears and i can hand turn the motor and have no clearence problems
