  • need help picking cam

here is what were doing with the motor, its going in a '92 2wd s-10 (3.42 rear gears) were also using the camaro T5

the engine a is from an '95 camaro, bored .030, balanced, compression right around 9-9.25, i blended the bowls and smoothed the runners.

what would be a good cam, how about computer tunning can i get a programmer some where or is fastchips my only option. id rather not mess with a custom computer reflash right away, wanna get all the bugs worked out first.

    thanks for any help

my cam is #2 on this list, http://www.cranecams.com/master/apps/chevy1.htm its going to be a decent cam for more performance, but it will still be driveable

as for computer programming , contact www.pcmforless.com i think they can help you

thanks for the help, i just finished porting the heads last night and we decided to use a holley commander 950 ECU, and go with cam #3 0r 4 on from crane cams. a powerdyne super charger is sitting on the workbench so you know what that means :D

crane cams only go to '94 model year, this engine is a '95 does that matter?

You're gonna be better off with a custom grind cam for your application. The shelf cams from Comp or Crane are probably a little too mild or inappropriate for your goals.

how do you like your cam? those are pretty agressive specs :D

any 1/4 mile times or dyno #'s?
