  • PCM Swapping Precautions

I was curious if I swap my PCM with a 2001 M5 V6 off another car, will I loose my odometer readout and get the other car's? (This would suck)

the service literature is not really that clear on this question, but the odometer information should be stored in another module, maybe the EBTCM? i don't think it is stored solely in the PCM, if there is a place for it in the pcm at all.
the PCM shares information with several other modules.

It's probably not on the PCM chip itself, but it's on another chip that's on the same circuit board. Unless 2000s are different. My 96 doesn't have the digital odometer.
