  • Going a little up.

I am going a little up In compression. I am thinking of going to a 9:0:1 to a 10:1, sound reasonable? I will want to run a 92-93 octane or not folks?

When I put my forged pistons in, I went to a 10.0:1 compression ratio. It runs great on 93 and that's the lowest octane that I run in it.

how're you going to up it? pistons i think would be needed, but are you gonna touch the heads at all?

How were you going to raise it.
          New pistons?
          Mill the heads?
          Non tulped valves?
          Thiner gasket?
          New heads?

            Well forged pistons.
P&P heads and upper and lower intake.

AFAIK, PnP'ing the heads and intakes won't change the compression ratio, unless you're altering the combustion chamber too.

Pistons are the only way to drastically change the compression ratio.

If you P&P the combustion chamber it will lower it but only by a 0.1:1 or so.
That is how I brought my c/r down to noless than 8.8:1.
