Robert the specs on that car are amazing! It is ashame we couldn't do something similar and make it streetable. (i.e. running on 92 octane.)

I imagine that the high compression ratio is what is causing the use of 104 octane.

I wonder how much of those stats we could apply to an F-body? ... interesting... :D

LOL, uh no those #'s would be at the wheels. Here is the dyno graph, also has a 100 wet NX run on there too.

http://www.carolinafbodyclub.com/iro...oinfo4_jpg.jpg

I have a 6lb powerdyne blower, haven't dynoed it with the blower yet. I would have last weekend but wanted to dyno my new 2000 Z28. I may get it to the dyno soon but it's apart in many pieces right now on jackstands. lol

I actually went to the track back in Nov with the blower. My posi died and I was doing 1 legger burnouts and 2.2-2.3 60fts. So the best I could muster up was a 13.3 @ 105. My laptop died also so I never sprayed over a 35 shot, retarded the timing way too much and lost 4mph in the 1/4 mile. doh!

Slobraeater is right, you can run 12's or 13's all day long with a V8. I did it last weekend at the track with a LS1. And so did everyone else that had one. But to do it in a V6 is just more fun. It's all about what you want. Me personally, I don't want to be like everyone else at the track, it's nice to have something different.

It amazes me how people think they can throw engines together in real life like they do in GT3

Nope, actually it was 1SweetSix that cracked me up laughing Sorry about the confusion.

The deal is you cant throw parts at a problem. Most people dont even know that going from 9.4:1 to 10.5:1 on these engines only nets you 3% more horsepower

if you only add 1 point of compression you will get maybe 1.5-3hp at the flywheel. but if your internal engine parts are all matched the correct way, compression is bound to go up. some the larger cams for the 3.8 that i have seen need about 10-1/10.5-1. and they wont make proper power until the compression is on target.btw, you can get away with running 10.5compression on pump gas. ;)
boost, you got it???

That's exactly right. Your motor works together as a system. Sometimes you can't look at just one thing. Also the point was to get better forged pistons. Plus with nitrous higher compression is better. Also I said this was my long term goal not anything I plan on doing overnight or any time soon. Between now and then I will do much more research and plan everything out to the very last detail.

IF you plan to run a large shot you will want to keep compression same as stock or maybe even a little lower. Something around 9:1.

pgriffith, nitrous like more compression blowers and turbos like low compression.
