Dyno numbers mean alot. They tell you exactly how your car is performing and what you have gained in hp/tq from mods. They will also show the difference in curves from swaping cams, etc.

Saying dyno numbers mean nothing is like saying 60ft's mean nothing. Cutting 1.6 60fts will win you a race down the 1/4 mile every time even if you have less hp at the wheels.

I dynoed 200/215 on a humid 93+* day, w/ my supersix package but stock cat. I replaced the cat and s-pipe w/ a 3" straight pipe and I gained 2mph at the track so I figure 215-220hp. I did not have any computer work or the MAFT+ so I could prolly squeeze out another 10-15 rwhp with that.
I don't have the car anymore (big mistake  ) but I'd be willing to build one up again. Mine was also an M5

Maybe I should correct myself, dyno numbers are only a small portion of the car's potential

My best N/A dyno was 220/234. That was with a cam only, no valve train or head work. I'm sure someone will put out a better # soon with a full SSM package. Of course my car will never go back to N/A so I can only give you blower dyno numbers now.

Are you saying that you dyno'd 220 WHP with a cam as your only mod?

No, my only ENGINE mod was a reground stock cam. (sorry about that) I decided to go with a cam only instead of the full heads/cam/intake package. At the time Comp was not offering any cams and I went with a regrind that I have been very pleased with.

I have many bolt on mods to the car, headers, full exhaust, cold air, etc. My dyno gain with the cam was 25 rwhp.

Good point, I know my car has more potential but I need to invest in a better drivetrain so I can launch the piss out of it on the bottle.

I think Tom will have that new flywheel done soon so I can start there with a new SPEC clutch, my stock one has seen better days.
