  • Allowing the HPP3 93 octane tuning to run on 91 octane?

I was wondering, since the car will advance the spark timing relative to temperature, to a limit of course, why not do the opposite of the SLP resistor and add mroe resistance so that spark advance is not as high as is would normally be? I'm only thinking about this since california still runs 91 octane standard supreme gas, and i don't want knock retard dropping sprak timing a whole lot. Do you guys think this would work?

Contact the company that makes the thing, they may be able to tell you.

Good luck on getting anything from the company. They'll probably not give advice to avoid any lia bility if it screws up.

I had a jet chip in my 89 camaro. They told me to run premium gas. I live in Utah where 91 octane is the highest. I didnt have any problems using 91 octane.

Ok, I just wondered since knock retard drops timing a lot, and I'd rather make a few less ponies than a lot less ponies.
