the purpose of having the LT1 TB is to get more air into the manifold.. if you just make an adapter then the air will still have to pass thru the small opening where the stock TB was which will compleetly wipe out any gains you might have had
it is so that the throttle body sits in the stock location even though it is modified. if you look at an lt1, see how far forwards it sits. the elbow is almost hitting the radiator shroud.and plus intake volume makes a difference in high end power. look at the tunnel ram for carbed cars. same idea in a way!!
