They're probably not answering because this question has been answered about a million times.

Go to the search page and do a search for engine swap. You'll find what you're looking for there. (Search in Advanced tech for the most helpful threads)

Oops. Sorry, I just noticed you have an LT1 to start.

This is a V6 forum, and I'm not sure that the LT1 to LS1 swap has been discussed here. If you can wade through all the usless babble and half-truths at LS1.com, you might be able to get better info there.

As far as I know, you'll need practically everything that connects to the engine. (short of the tranny) Maybe even the tranny since the PCM will have to be changed!

Who knows? Sounds like one heck of a project though. Why not just do a 96 to 98 CAR swap? he he he... ;)

the 96 RS did not come with an LT1 to my knowledge, it was a 3.1L V6 I could be wrong but thats what I always thought it was

you guys are crazy, from 93-first half of 95 the camaro has a 3.4 then second half of 95 all the way to 02 it has a 3.8 the rs is just an appearance package and lsd with 3.42 i believe nonetheless the 96 rs has a 3.8 stock anyway

I misread the post, I thought it said SS. At any rate, he should do a search for this one, there's lots of info out there.
