• 3.4 L stroked to either a 4.0 or 4.2

    http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/047035.html

saw this on another board .. not too sure how reliable that the info is , but with all the poeple getting excited about the 3.8L stroker kit i thought some of the 3.4L guys might wanna make some noise about this and see if anything actually happens

i cant imagine that this could easily done without a lot of work done to the block and possibly the oil pan , but i guess we'll have to wait and see

The 2.8L block you are talking of is made completly of alumnium(im pretty sure), im sure it would be possible to get the block resleved to the bore of a 3.4L

          If I'm not mistaken isn't the 3.4L a bored and stroked 2.8L?

Q: does that mean that it cant be stroked more?

A: no, many people stroke a 350 to a 383, so saying that a 3.4L is a stroked and bored 2.8L is like saying that you cant take a 383 and stroke it to a 396

the problem is that there is not a readily available crank that hase a longer stroke then the 3.4 crank in the 60* series. you could jsut overbore the thing too a 4" bore i guess. that would make it just over 250 cubic inchs. might be worth it. ill see what i can come up with
              boost, you got it???

Funny, I asked about this over a year ago and I was severely flamed for it. I was kind of hoping to keep a lid on this but I am already working on another 3.4L (not the one in my car) that was going to be stroked and have a roller cam. Fun, fun, fun

I didn't get a quote on just the resleeving but just the quote for the block and its a lot more than I am willing to admit to right now.

Contact Darton Sleeves for the sleeves. Be prepared to pay around $1000 for just the sleeves. This will not include block work and sleeve installation.
