I am 18 and yes... insurance sux. I'm pretty happy w/beating mustang gt's and ricers... but if u really wanna know... most people round here's gett'n in the 330'whp range on NOS~what I'm getting~ and other various nitrous kits... ;) you have 2 have all the supportive mods of course.... but price vs. hp is actually pretty reasonable.

If you stiffen up your car with subframe connectors, aftermarket torque arm, panhard rod, relocated LCA's, good rear shocks/springs, and some nice tires that are a lil bigger, you would lose alot less through your drivetrain. And hooking up that much better is always good for a couple tenths and a much better road feel.

3.42 gears are VERY streetable... C'mon now, I notice that alot of you guys with newer cars are very leery of gearing... I'm a musclecar guy, and I'll tell you right now that 4.10's in my 383 big block is no problem. Don't worry about gearing, it's no problem for you here.

I put 3.73's with Limited Slip in my 92 Camaro, and I haven't even put the V8 in it yet... I can cruise all day at 80 on the freeway, and now second gear barks like a rabid dog from a 20 roll.

But ditch the carb idea. It's not worth it.

You can get more power, for less money (in initial cost AND at the tank) with a good EFI setup. Go get some good injectors and you're on your way, they are not unreasonably priced. Coupled with a fuel pressure regulator and an aftermarket fuel pump and you will have a bulletproof fuel delivery system that will really wake up with a computer-cam and some porting on your throttle body.

call up comp or crane cams and talk to a tech about your setup and what you plan to do, they will point you in the right direction, those guys are great and they never mind sitting on the phone with you for a half hour mulling over details.

you could break 300 VERY STREETABLE horsepower if you continue to tinker down the road with ported heads, headers, exhuast, underdrive pulleys, etc.

I like having 440 HP under the hood of my old Plymouth, but there are few things as satisfying as a really smooth daily driver that isn't killing you at the pump, but is killing everyone else on the way out of the station. :D
