Engine block and injectors change between 97 and 00.

I've been waiting to post this info..

Here is a picture of my block, a 97..

Well on the 00 where the red dots are, there are sort of guide pins for the gaskets that go between the block and the lower intake, on that lip.

I wonder what else is changed on the block??

Also, the 97 style injectors shown in this picture: 97 fuel rail

differ from the 00 ones. The 00 ones are a more of a pencil type.

My block also has these guide pins. Must have changed in 98. I have a picture of my fuel rail, I just need to upload them. Im not sure if the rail is same as yours.

Very interesting! My original 98 block does not have these "pins" nor does the 96 block I'm running now. I did notice the GM gasket set I got had different gaskets that go where these dots are. The gaksets differed from the originals in they were U shaped and fit down over the edge of the block. The stock ones were flat.
My 98 fuel rail is also the same as the 96 rail I have. Maybe the change was in the late 98 production. I ordered my car in Oct of 97 and it was delivered in Dec of 97.
