    I don't know. I was assuming that what they meant by low thermal expansion coefficient was that it was similar to cast pistons.

      Carbon-carbon based CF is extremely strong. I read and article on how Nasa plans on trying to make a shuttle into space in the far future using soem type of building material. I think the highest they could get any building material, calculated to be like 17 miles, however with a carbon-carbon based polymer, they believe they can get it to be about 1,500 miles high. (too bad their still short like 40,000 miles of their goal!) but you get the idea. It may have to be compressed some how, but it is still extremely strong.
