Why do you have to change the computer's? Can't you use your old OBD 1 comp. and your old wiring harness to splice into? as for the O2 sensors since 3.8's have 4 i've heard you can delete two of em' and and use it originally w/ 2 sensors for the original computer. Just my 2 cents

won't work... and even if it did it would not work great... 3.8Ls use mafs, no maf hookup on 3.4Ls... the fuel maps are waay off.. if peopel hae problems with fuel maps on modded 3.4Ls then they will have a hell of a time on a 3.8L

All the sensors on a 3.8L are obd2, so some might not even beable to hook up right into the pcm...

You might be able to get it to work with lots of work a complete new program built secifically for your car or spend $150 and get a used computet and have no problems.

        95-97 3.8 have 4 O2
        98+ have 3

your goign to have to use the ODB2 PCM, get the same year PCM for what ever motor you get,

i do know one person on www.v6fbody.com that is using his 1997 PCM on a 2000 motor !!!!!!!!

I want to use a 98+ PCM on my 97, does that mean I need a 98 dash cluster? What else would have to be changed? (Sorry on hijacking the thread, but curiousity got to me.)

if you are going to swap in a 3.8 get the gtp l67. forged internals are nice if you ever want to go forced induction later on. and i would suggest going with the tubular k-member (its lighter and gives you more room). as for the tranny... im not sure if the bell housing is the same but the basic tranny is the exact same. go to a shop and ask them if they know.
