  • thinking about putting my fieros L67 into a bird.

So what all does it take? If I find a 97 3800 auto bird, and put the L67 in, what all will I need to make the swap sucessful?

isnt the L67 sideways? i think it would be difficult to put it in a F/R car. i could be wrong though.

Its doable the problem you will run into i the supercharger fititng under the cowl... I say go for it, if I had a spare car, I'd do it.

its not supercharged anymore, its turbo'd now. I built a custom intake for it.

Im thinking putting the intercooler up under the dash where the AC stuff would of been, and running the boost pipe straight out from the cowl into the throttle body.

All series II 3800 blocks are the same. Yeah my engine is turned sideways, but mounted to a 4L60e from a V6 car, itll bolt right up with no problems. The stock firebird wiring harness should snap right to it also, itll just take a custom computer program.

        Any more ideas?

ahh you should be fine then...

just hook it up, gonna need hptuners...

Issues may be running exahsut through the K-member, to thte back of the car. May wanna consider getting an aftermarket k-member.

i could build my own K-member from scratch, not a problem. Thinking about running "dual" exhaust systems. Have one thats set up stock, sounds stock looks stock. Then have an electric cutout that dumps over by the passenger door or something.

dyno'd 477 wheel hp and 515 wheel torque in my fiero. HP peaked at pretty much peaked by 5300 though, weve determined my turbine housing is too small and im losing power up high because of the restriction. Ive got a ported turbine about to go on, and a new cam will be in within a month, I think we can get 520 whp or so out of it.

whoops sorry, those are the old dyno videos from back when i was non intercooled. heres the new ones.

the first pass of the 2nd video was the highest pull. I have a 4000 stall, so it was losing alot of power through the converter. For that pass I locked the converter. On the next pass I tried to bump up the boost a little more and we had a mishap. (30 psi of boost). Thank god for 4 layer cometic gaskets. haha.
