  • full valvetrain, intake/exhaust=12 sec miata?

    Hi everyone,

Well, I finally got tired of the budget beater concept and ordered the full valvetrain components. Here it goes...

    lunati:
    springs
    locks
    retainers

    comp cams:
roller tip rockers (not the gold series)
    hardened rods

    crane cams:
    hot cam and anti-pump lifters

Hooker super comp headers, 2.25" collectors into a single 3" all the way back to a catco 3" in/out ending with a magnaflow 14" body 3" inlet 2.5" dual out.

I've got an SS harwood scoop molded into my stock hood that is functional and will be plumbed into the intake with a k&N filter. including 2.5" mandrel bent tubing where necessary.

    Amm Performance pulley set (alt/crank)
    180 degree t-stat

The heads will get a 3-angle (30-60-40 cut i believe) job. As well as gasket matching and bowl blending. The intake (lower) will also get the same treatment...

The injectors are stock, no fuel regulator, stock miata fuel filter and pump...

will be using a stock fly, clutch, custom driveshaft and my stock rear-end with 4.11:1 gears... should the car be able to pull a 12 second quarter mile? Full weight of the car with me in it will be less than 2500 lbs.

This is theoretically speaking, since the stock rear-end will not hold under severe conditions for too long (thus the reason for the 7.5" ford IRS upgrade later)

    What do ya guys thinks?

You will be useing the stock miata rear?
What the ford IRS up grade, is it a ford rear?
    Whats that cam look like?
Thats kind of like the time I wanted to put a boniville SSEi 3.8L engien drive and all in my caviler but I found out that the engine had a bad super charger so I never got it.

The cam is the one used for a 1.5:1 rocker ratio with .480 lift on exhaust... the profile is something like 218int 228 exhaust (cannot completely remember off the top of my head). It's on a 110 or a 112.

The rear end is a ford thunderbird independent setup found on the supercharged cars. The choice of gears (for me) would be 3.73's or even 4.10's. The stock rear is a miata rear, that is a 6" (WEAK) ring gear with 4.11's.

Remember this is a miata with the f-body 3.4L in it.
