Went out and checked out the wires again, everything seemed fine. I waited till dark so I could look for arcing. I let the engine and engine bay heat up by letting the car idle for a while. Revved the engine by the throttle linkage on the TB and the engine bay light up! Well, not really but you could see the arcing all over the engine.
Well, since I didn't have the patience or tools to change the plugs and wires I gave Firestone a call. They wanted $250 to change the plugs and wires ! Then he says that a tune-up consists of them changing the plugs and it only costs $59.99, so I tell him they can change my plugs and I'll get the wires myself.
I bought some cheap Xact wires and waited 2.5 hours for them to change the plugs, rotate tires, and check out my squeaking wheel. Sometimes I go and watch the guys in the garage. I see the guy who's working on my car climb into the engine bay! He literaly climbs up on the radiator support and kneels down looking at my engine. Then later I decide I want to keep the old spark plugs so I go out to tell him, and I see him about to put copper plugs into my car! Now I'm not saying thats a horrible thing, but if it came with platinums, that's whats going back in!
After they're done, they still can't tell me why the rear passenger wheels sqeaks  ( I've had them and the dealership look at it before.) Then they charge me $35 more just cause I asked them to look at the wheel. They considered that a "complete vehicle inspection." So now the bills $96 just to get the freakin spark plugs changed.
I get in the car, start it up, and there's this LOUD rattle for a second. Then I hear it everytime I shift all the way home. I'm pissed already cause they ****ed my over. So I turn around and head back to Firestone.
The guy there is like "you asked for an inspection", but I only asked for them to look at the wheel. Then I tell him about the rattle and he says I can bring it back tomorrow and they'll look at it. I tell him they better look at it today, so he says I'll have to wait awhile till they have time.
The thing is my dad and I have been giving them business for 6 years. We had an understanding with the managers, they were very helpful and polite. The service manager quit and now there's a couple new guy trying to rip off as many people as possible. One of the old manager's is still there, but he was off today. And there's a mechanic named Jason that's been there just as long, and is just as helpful. Back to my story, Jason was there so I asked the manager why couldn't Jason help me, he was like "umm" and Jason said "Sure, of course I'll help."
Jason goes out and takes the car for a test ride, as soon as he pull out of the parking space, RATTLE RATTLE, it was loud. So he pulls it into the bay and puts it on the lift. Somehow the guy who worked on my car bent the brace under the drive shaft and I pipe up so it hit the exhaust. Jason took a crowbar to it and bent it back down.
While it was up I took a look at the rear brakes. And I notice that the parking brake assembly on the rear tires swings freely. If you've ever noticed the spring on the rear brakes, those are supposed to unlock the parking brake when you took off the parking brake. I guess those are getting old and worn. They're not disengaging the parking brake (its not applying in pressure either) so the brake pads are riding on the rotor causing them to squeak every so often.
I pretty much found the solutions for all my problems today so I'm kinda happy
