alright here we go i recently put on a set of 3.73's w, a stall converter 2600. I am not to sure on what company it's made by but it is a really bad *** converter. my complaint is that i feel i lost some mid range power. it feels good taking off but like a turtle after the 60' ft. then at about 3rd it starts to feel a little better. The only mods i have is bosch platinum 4 plugs, CAI, corvette servo, and 3in exhaust w/ dynomax muffler. Now im not sure if when i went with the 3" exhaust from cat to muffler i lost the power. i have been looking at getting some roller rockers and polishing and porting the intake and match porting with the heads. I dont want to get a cam so my future plans are to drop a LS1 396 stroker. What can be happening? The factors that can play a major issue is that here in the los angeles area it has been very humid. which i know affects power enough to notice a difference. The other thing is that my car has about 100,000 miles on it, and the told me that my tranny may go anytime soon. But is anything what rocker arms does everyone recommend size wise. I was thinking maybe 1.9's but i am worried about valve flot. Let me know your O2's.

I've seen the rockers you're talking about. I'd see you could get stiffer springs put in w/ the rockers. This, and lightweight retainers will help fight valve float. P&P heads will work well w/ the high lift rockers. I'd try a MSD-DIS-4 ignition upgrade to burn off the denser air/fuel mixture provided by the cai. This will ensure you most or all of the air/fuel mixture will be used to make power. I'd finish off the intake mods as well if you have a 98+. headers might help as well, but not much unless you do heads, cam, or lifters.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Im not going to put you down arctic, but you need to do some more research before throwing out modification ideas to people.
The MSD DiS-4 is supercontroversial, and I seriously don't think it provides any power for our cars at all - under any circumstances. The only reason people buy it is for the window switch capabilities it offers.
Stiffer springs should be used on any valve lift over 0.45", according to Tom @ Supersix, to prevent valve float.
"P&P heads will work well w/ the high lift rockers" = this has been proven to be false. Do some reading at zzponline and 3800performance, clubgp and the like, and you'll find out porting/polishing heads on any n/a 3800-II is pointless and nets 0 horsepower. Unless you're going with a power adder, or want to raise compression, this is useless.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
