ok, I'm planning to take out my '98 3.8 engine and take off the heads for porting and what not. I'm also planning on a new cam, geared for a turbo that I plan to get in the near future. And I want to put on new injecotrs and fuel pump while I'm at it. My question is, what else should I do while I have the motor pulled out? I don't want to do pistons or crank, but should I get new gaskets, all new stud kits, cam shaft kit, ect? and if I'm forgetting something, please feel free to elaborate. I just want to make sure I don't have to pull the engine out again for a while.

Why wouldn't you get new gaskets. Would you even attempt to swap the heads, cam, manifold, etc using old gaskets that are cracked and broken?
If you really want your engine to last, get new everything when you rebuild it.Matt
